George Howard Christensen, the son of Chris and Atta Lewis Christensen, was born September 16, 1920 at Goldfield, Iowa. He attended the rural school and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School. He served in Air Force for four years during World War II. On February 28,1946 he married Arlene Shurson of Eagle Grove at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm southeast of Eagle Grove.

George died at his home on Thursday, October 28 at the age of 56 years, one month and 12 days. Survivors include his wife, Arlene; his mother, Atta Christensen, Eagle Grove; two daughters, Linda (Mrs. Ray) Pressler, Eagle Grove; Donna, Eagle Grove; four brothers - Lewis, Englewood, Calif.; Harvey, Denver, Colo.; Verne, Eagle Grove; Virgil, Cedar Falls; and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Norris, Clinton.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 1,1976 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Kenneth Torvik officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
