Pearl Louise (Johnson) Jensen was born on April 30, 1939, to Roger and Catherine (Canfield) Johnson, in Webster City, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and in 1997, Pearl received her G.E.D. from Iowa Central Community College.

On October 10, 1959, Pearl was united in marriage with Marvin Jensen in Blue Earth, Minnesota. To this union, five children were born. The couple moved to Eagle Grove in 1963. Pearl worked at Rotary Senior Living, Meredith Corporation, Avon and for the Eagle Grove Schools in the kitchen, retiring in 2008.

Pearl was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as a member of the Guild and attended Bible studies. She enjoyed reading, shopping, crossword puzzles, keeping in touch with friends and family through cards and letters and spending time with family. Pearl was a selfless wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Pearl passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ, at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin in October 2011; infant great-grandchild, Mckenzie Jackson; sisters, Karen Espe and Judy Blair and sister-in-law, Linda Johnson. Pearl is survived by her children: Sherry Hohensee (Kenny) of Renwick, Debora Smith of Eagle Grove, Brenda Jackson of San Tan Valley, AZ, Denise Weston (Ronald) of Altoona and Alan Jensen of Eagle Grove; ten grandchildren: Travis Hohensee, Katie (David) Smith Baker, Rachael Smith, Erin Jackson, Tammi Jo Jackson, Shawn Jackson (Kayla), Keri (John) Weston-Stoll, Katharine (Benjamin) Good, Kristi (Tyler) Akins and Kelsi Weston; seven great-grandchildren: Azalea and Evelyn Gomez, Bella Jackson, Creighton and Jaylyn Good and Hayden and Cash Akins; brothers, Roger Johnson (Linda) of Fort Dodge and Noble Johnson of Kansas and sisters, Ramona Devan of Boone, Sharon Metzger of El Dorado, KS and Mary Nelson (Bruce) of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
