Dorothy “Dot” Ann Dahlgren, the daughter of Floyd and Hazel (Schweppe) Faulkner, was born on August 30, 1934 in Vincent, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1952. On February 18, 1956 Dot was united in marriage with Lyle Robert Dahlgren in Vincent, Iowa. She worked in the Algona Community Schools system for 25 years with the lunch program. She worked at Exceptional Opportunities and also worked at the Algona Manor for a number of years. She really enjoyed working with the residents and all of her co-workers..

Dot was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a heart of gold. Her pride and joy was taking care of her family, especially her grandkids. Dot was the “Queen of snacks” and took the kids on regular trips to Hy-Vee and McDonalds for treats and to the library. Her grandkids joke you can count the number of times she swore on one hand.... actually one finger. She enjoyed card club, especially playing 500 and canasta, birthday club and ceramics.

Left to cherish Dot’s memory are her children, Joel Dahlgren of Alamogordo, NM, Tami Reding and her husband Jeff of Bode and Ty Dahlgren and his wife Lynn of Gilbert, AZ; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two babies on the way. Two brothers, Max and his wife Marjorie of Osceola, and Lyle Faulkner of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle in 2013; parents, daughter-in-law, Cathy Dahlgren, sister Bethene Mattingly, and brother, Roger Faulkner.
