9 November 1895 ---- 28 July 1981

Mrs. Helen Margaret Thul, the daughter of Frank and Frances Pankau Buellesfeld, was born on November 9, 1895 at Bondville, Illinois. She grew up and attended school in Illinois, before the family moved to Oklahoma in 1911. While living in Oklahoma, she enjoyed the pleasure of playing the organ for her church. In 1922 she was united in marriage with Casper (Casey) Thul in Blackwell, Okla. To this union were born four children. The family farmed in the Eagle Grove-Clarion area for many years and moved to Eagle Grove in 1942. Mr. Thul died in 1952. Helen continued to live in her home until she suffered a fall in January of this year and she had resided at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove since that time. She died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge on Tuesday, July 28, 1981, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 19 days. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past week. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her children, Francis Thul of Fort Dodge; Lucille, Mrs. Clifford Nelson of Eagle Grove; Marjorie, Mrs. Martin Larson of Thor; Donald C. Thul of Eagle Grove; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three sisters, Nora, Mrs. Florian Glaser of Ponca City, Okla.; Emma, Mrs. John Stuevers of Blackwell, Okla., Tressa, Mrs. Frank Schaefer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Albert Buellesfeld of Blackwell, Okla.; Francis Buellesfeld of Wichita, Kansas; and Louis Buellesfeld, Blackwell, Okla., and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Thul, were held on Thursday morning, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. John Hemann officiated and burial was in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
