16 May 1865 --- 16 February 1943
Ole Sampson was born to parents Samson and Brita Olson, May 16, 1865, at Berge, Strandheim parish, Hardanger, Norway, and died at his home, North Iowa Ave., Eagle Grove, Iowa, Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1943, age 77 years and 9 months. He was baptized to Christ, received instruction and confessed his Christian Faith. At the age of 25 years he came to America, to Humboldt county, Iowa.
In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss Serina Hanson. To this union three little girls were born. Two of these died, and one, Mrs. Jennie Drickeson of Brock, Saskatchewan, Canada. Mrs. Sampson died May 23, 1900. He was married to Miss Susie Iverson in 1909, who now survives him, together with their three sons, Melbourne of Eagle Grove, Sanford of Minneapolis, and Raymond in the Coast Guard service at Lavalette, N. J. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, his brothers and sisters having passed away before him. Mr. Sampson was a quiet personality, kind hearted and friendly, a good husband and neighbor. He was more or less confined to his home after a serious fall and hip fracture several years ago. He was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church for many years and appreciated very much the services his church brought him through its ministry.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 19 from the home and from the church. Burial was made in the family lot of the Rose Hill cemetery.
