Mrs. Leo R. Finn
Funeral services for Mrs. Leo R. Finn, were held at the First Congregational Church at Clarion, Thursday, Mar. 26, 1970. Last rites were conducted by Rev. Gerald Eslinger, pastor of First Congregational church and by Rev. Father Albert Hoffmann of St. John's church. Mrs. Joe Campbell was the organist. Eyler Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Cleo Bisgrove, Tom Kramer, Otto Schiek, Elmer Carris of Clarion, Vernon West of Marshalltown and Robert Barry of St. Paul. Minn. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion, Iowa.

Lela Marie Given Finn was born in Lake Township, Wright County, Clarion, Iowa, on February 9, 1904. She passed away at Clarion Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Mar. 24, 1970. Marie was the daughter of Katharine and James E. Given. After the death of her father, when Marie was still a child, she, her mother and sister, Gladys, moved to their home in Clarion, Iowa, to live. She graduated from Clarion High School with the class of 1922. Having taken a Normal Training Course, she taught in the rural schools in the Clarion community. Later she attended Iowa State Teachers College, now the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls. She also attended Drake University at Des Moines, Iowa. Following this she taught at Goodell, Rowan, Bancroft and at Goldfield. On August 21, 1937 she was united in marriage to Leo R. Finn of Belmond, Iowa by Rev. S. J. Mauer of St. Francis church. Following their marriage their home was established in Bancroft, where Leo owned and operated a grocery store. They lived in Bancroft until 1944 when they returned to Clarion to make their home. Mrs. Finn was a member of the First Congregational Church of Clarion. She was Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge, a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary, also a member of the Ladies of World War I Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gladys. Surviving are her husband, Leo R. Finn, Clarion; several cousins living in Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown, other relatives and many friends.
