Ada Irene Culmer was born on March 26, 1907, in Woolstock, Iowa, to Charles and Julia Beshey Culmer. She attended country school in Woolstock. She was united in marriage to Matthew Sadler on September 17, 1929, in Eagle Grove. She worked for Sadler Construction for a number of years and they kept her busy finishing woodwork in many homes. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Guild, and the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Eagle Grove and the Friendly Club.
Ada Irene Sadler died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 90. Survivors include two sons, Dick and wife, Mary, and Larry and wife, Marilyn, all of Eagle Grove: eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren: one brother, Maynard Culmer, and wife, Betty, Portland, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Betty Culmer, Ashland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matt, on September 17, 1983, a son, Dean; a sister, Eva Stauffer, and two brothers, Clifford, and Lyle.
Funeral services were held Friday March 13, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Reverend Wayne Droessler officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
