Zola Ione Fisher was born July 16, 1901, the daughter of Bertram and Frankie Ruby France Fisher at Clarion, Iowa. She received her education in the Clarion schools and graduated in 1919.

She was first united in marriage to Francis Shafer, who died in 1946. She later married Floyd K. Neely, May 23, 1953 in Indiana. The couple made their home in Howell, Mich. He died in 1986.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Howell, Mich.; Order of the Eastern Star; Elkettes; a Gray Lady at the local hospital; active in the Republican party; and the Commandery of the Knights Templar Auxiliary; and the PEO Sisterhood.

Zola Neely died January 23, 1989 at Howell, Mich., at the age of 87 years, six months, and seven days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two husbands. She is survived by one brother, Robert Fisher, Eagle Grove; nephews, Richard and Edward Fisher; and nieces, Joyce Prell and Joan Gruenberg.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 27, 1989 at 2 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Funeral services were also held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, in the First Presbyterian Church in Howell, Mich., with Dr. Kenneth Lister and the Rev. William Jones officiating.

Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
