Beverly Williams, 88, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Lehigh United Methodist Church in Lehigh. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
She is survived by her son, Harold Williams of Cherokee, Iowa; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; her two sisters, Jerri Dellachiesa and Paulette Curtis both of Lehigh; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Beverly is preceded in death her husband Elmer, her parents, her two brothers Charles and Buddy Jacob and a sister Alyce Pritchard.
Beverly Louise Jacob, the daughter of Paul and Olive (Waggoner) Jacob, was born March 30, 1929 at her home in Webster County, Iowa. She was a member of the 1947 graduating class at the Lehigh High School. On March 26, 1950, Beverly was united in marriage to Elmer Williams in Clarion, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made Lehigh their home. Beverly worked at the Younkers Beauty Salon for 7 years before she started the Klip & Kurl Beauty and Barber Shop in Lehigh. She owned and operated the salon in Lehigh for 18 years. Beverly also worked as a surgical aide at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge for 17 years before she retired in 1981. After Elmer’s death on December 13, 2001, Beverly continued to live in Lehigh.
Beverly enjoyed working with crafts and decorating but will be remembered the most as being a great and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. Beverly was a longtime member of the Lehigh United Methodist Church and she was also involved in the Lehigh Golden Memories.
