Shannon Kay Smith, 73 of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November, 7th, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband and sons. Shannon was born in Mason City, Iowa on March 11th, 1944 to Eugene and Marie Kluckhohn. She lived in Stanhope, Iowa and Klemme, Iowa and moved to Austin, Texas in her youth. She married Leroy Smith on November 2nd, 1962 and cherished life, family, and friends with him for 55 years. She loved art and music, especially hymns, nature, gardening, butterflies and birds of all kinds, but especially hummingbirds. She was a fantastic mom and grandma that always invested herself in their lives. Shannon was a member and elder of Leander Presbyterian Church and deeply loved her Church family. Most importantly to her, she was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shannon is survived by her husband Leroy, her sons Gary Smith, Trey Smith, and Greg Smith and his wife Victoria Smith, her brother David Kluckhohn, her sister Sheila Horne and her husband Frank Horne, her grandchildren Colten Smith, Courtney Smith, Trevor Smith, Cody Smith, and Grayson Smith, her great-grandchildren Mikyla Coffman and Madalyn Coffman, and 5 nieces and 6 nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 11th, 2017 at Beck Funeral Home at 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park, Texas 78613 and will be laid to rest at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shannon's honor to Leander Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1103, Leander, TX 78641 or your favorite charity.
