Ricky Lee Sorenson, 58, of Sparta, [Missouri] formerly of Renwick, Iowa, died at home Nov. 8, 2017. He was born Jan. 6, 1959, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Richard and Mary Sorenson. He and Carmen MacRunnel were united in marriage July 2, 1994.
Ricky worked for Palmer Construction in his younger years. Recently, he worked as a lead fork lift operator at Springfield Underground for DHL. He had a passion for fishing with his dad, sons, grandson and friend Jim. He also enjoyed playing cards including Texas holdem with his buddies and skunking anyone in a game of cribbage. He enjoyed Nascar and sports, especially college football.
He could always bring a smile and a chuckle to anyone he met. He was always there for his family and friends and never let them down.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Sorenson; and his father Richard Sorenson. Ricky is survived by his wife, Carmen Sorenson of the home; two sons, Benjamin and wife Shelby Bagg of San Antonio, Texas, and Nicholas Roe of Sparta; two grandchildren, Brayden and McKinliegh; his mother, Mary Sorenson; two brothers, Steve Sorenson and Charles Sorenson (Judy Guy) all of Renwick, Iowa; one sister Cindy and husband A. J. Most of Dowagiac, Michigan; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Holden Cremation and Funeral Service, Sparta, Missouri.
