ACKLEY, Iowa - Maxine Marie Steinmeier died Sunday, June 26, 2005. The Rev. Jim Miller conducted inurnment services Wednesday, June 29, at St. Mary's cemetery in Ackley according to her wishes. Maxine Kennedy was born January 5, 1914 in Clarion, Iowa to John Thomas Kennedy and Anabelle Hensing Kennedy. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School. Maxine loved golf, traveling, fishing and dancing. She married Lester Steinmeier of Ackley. They moved around quite a bit due to her husband's line of work, having lived in Iowa, Ohio, California and Oregon. Lester preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1998. Maxine was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ackley, St. Mary's Altar Society, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Ackley Women's Club. She had many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, John and Robert, and one sister, Miriam Joan Kennedy Snittjer.
