Funeral Services for Mrs. Alfred Wessel, 46, were held in the Methodist Church with the Rev. C. E. Wilcox, in charge. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery. Katherine Barnes was born at Woolstock, Ia., Nov. 2, 1893. She moved with her parents to Beadle County in 1902. She attended Huron schools and after attending Huron College taught in rural schools in Beadle County until her marriage to Alfred Wessel on May 28, 1925. Following their marriage they lived on a farm south of Huron. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband and four sons; Robert, 13; Irving, 11; Lowell, 10, and Dale, 8. Two sisters also survive her. Mrs. John Garrity of Huron; Mrs. R. R. Mead, Wolsey, and one brother, Dave H. Barnes of Virgil.
