August 22, 1913 --- October 19, 1974

Harm Dirks was born Aug. 22, 1913, in Franklin Co. Ia. the son of Henry and Minnie (Koenen) Dirks. He was raised in the Alexander and Meservey areas. He farmed a few years, then worked for the railroad. Because of ill health he retired in 1969. On Jan. 6, 1939 he was united in marriage to Lucille Waddingham in Klemme. They lived their entire life in Alexander­-Meservey area. Mr. Dirks was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meservey.

Survivors include his wife Lucille, his father Henry, two sons Donald of Boulder, Colo., Gary of Peoria, Ill., three daughters, Mrs. Ron Vanness of Gallon, Ohio, Patricia and Sandra at home, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Theodore of Klemme and Tenus of Grundy Center, and two sisters Mrs. Virgil Waddingham of Meservey, and Mrs. Elmer Trager of Meservey. He was pre­ceded in death by his mother and one brother.
