Ingeborg J Hauge Stockdale

May 17, 1844 ----- May 21, 1927

Ingeborg Hauge was born near Stavanger, Norway May 17, 1844. She was married to Sivert Stockdale who was a public school teacher. Three children were born to this marriage, two boys and a girl. The family emigrated in the year of 1883 settling near Morris, Ill. After about six years stay they came to Stratford, Iowa where they lived about 13 years. Finally the family came to Eagle Grove in the year 1908, where she has resided ever since. Mr. Stockdale died about two years ago. Since then she and a grandson lived together until about seven weeks before she died. During the time of sickness she made her home with her son, S. M. Stockdale and wife. The departed has been somewhat feeble for at least four years. Finally rheumatism influenza, together with old age hastened on the end. She died peacefully Saturday the 21st of May, at 4:30 p. m., at the age of 83 years and four days.

Besides the husband, a son of five years had preceded her in death. She leaves behind to mourn the loss of a dear mother and grandmother: Sam Stockdale of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Lina Severtson of Ellsworth, Iowa, and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Besides three sisters near Stavanger, Norway.

Funeral services were held Tuesday May 24th from the West Side Lutheran church. Many friends and neighbors were present to pay the last respects to an aged sister and friend who had left our midst. P. Ljostveit officiated.

The departed sister had not been able to be around much for some years, but had specially of late given much attention to her soul's salvation and confessed that she was ready to meet her Savior. God bless and comfort the bereaved friends.
