Donovan "Don" H. Goeman, 77, Neosho, Mo., entered into rest on September 27, 2017, in Joplin, Mo., following a short illness. Don was born March 5, 1940, in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Hio and Anna (Gruis) Goeman. He served in the U.S. Army, 1961-1964 and then worked as an administrator at the Veteran's Hospital, in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to Neosho in 2010 from Branson, Mo.
Don enjoyed hunting, traveling and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Don and Shirley Venable Schnakenberg were married on December 30, 2010, at Forsyth, Mo. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, Brandon Goeman and wife, Amy, of Overland Park, Kan.; three stepsons, Terry Schnakenberg and wife, Julie, of Ozark, Mo., Tim Schnakenberg and wife, D' anne, of Billings, Mo., and Tracy Schnakenberg, of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Ann Bell and husband, Ed, of South Carolina, and Mavis Murphy and husband, Jim, of Marshfield, Mo.; and four step-grandchildren, Cord Schnakenberg, Collin Schnakenberg, Anna Schnakenberg and Jean Mae Schnakenberg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lyla Gaye, in 2008; one brother, Donald Goeman; and one sister, Marjorie Christians.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 10 a.m. at the Hillcrest Church of Christ, Danny Boggs will officiate. Following the service, the family will receive friends until 11:30 a.m. at the church. Contributions, in memory of Don, may be made to the Neosho Christian School, in care of Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850. Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
