Dead at 69 Years
Mrs. Frank Rockow, 69, longtime Williams resident, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday at the Ellsworth Memorial hospital in Iowa Falls. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Vernon Lutheran church 10 miles northwest of Williams. The Rev. Charles Schultz will officiate and burial will be in the Vernon Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Thursday, when it will be taken to the church.

Martha Augusta Dorothea Beyer, daughter of John and Dora Beyer was born March 26, 1897, on a farm near Dows, Iowa. She was reared and educated in the Dows community. She was united in marriage Sept. 8, 1915 to Frank Rockow, and the couple had always farmed six and one half miles northwest of Williams.

She is survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters, Leonard Rockow, Williams, Herbert Rockow, Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Don (Lorene) Hastings, Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Douglas (Velma) Christensen, Grimes, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. Freda Madole, Iowa Falls, and one aunt, Mrs. Anna Collins, Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Mrs. Rockow was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of the Vernon Lutheran church. She was active in the Ladies' Aid of the church.
