January 2, 1929 --- August 25, 2017

Ralph Max Bremer
Beloved husband, father and grandfather died of complications from Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol, sons Kirk Bremer of California and Jason Bremer, wife Jennifer and their children Olivia and Naomi of Seattle.

Ralph grew up in the town where he was born, Eagle Grove, Iowa. A town he fondly remembered as having the biggest swimming pool anywhere. He graduated from the University Of Iowa College of Law, JD, Magna Cum Laude in 1956 with the Order of the Coif, graduating first in his class. He was also a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was on the faculty of the University of Washington in the 1950's, in general practice at Lycette, Diamond & Sylvester, a staff attorney at Safeco Insurance Company and Vice President and Chief Counsel of Safeco Credit Company. He was president and chairman of the board of Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound from 1980 to 1982.

Ralph's move to Seattle was motivated by his introduction to skiing and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He was a ski instructor for SPI, a member of the WAC for 50 years and also had a passion for swimming and running, having completed one Emerald City Marathon.

A Celebration of Ralph's life will be held at Shoreline Community Church on Sunday, September 17th, at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northwest Parkinson's Foundation or Shoreline Community Church.
