Lyle G. Thompson, 46, of Webster City, formerly of Eagle Grove died suddenly Saturday evening following a heart attack. Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Sandvig Funeral home in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Lloyd W. Meyer officiating, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.

Lyle George Thompson, son of Thomas and Martha Thompson, was born April 13, 1919, at Renwick and was reared and educated in the Renwick community. He enlisted in the army and served during World War II as a master sergeant in the South Pacific, he also served in the Korean war.

He was united in marriage Aug. 4, 1946 to Ruth Johnson, and one son was born to this union, Richard Thompson of Eagle Grove. Mr. Thompson had been employed for several years in building construction work.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard, two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Miller of Webster City, and Mrs. Harold Albright of Springdale, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Mr. Thompson was baptized in the Baptist faith.
