January 14, 1923 ---- June 12, 1979

Robert Lee Parrish was born to Leslie and Bessie Evans Parrish on January 14, 1923 at Brashear, Mo. He attended school at Monmouth, Ill. and farmed with his father for a time, then entered the Army. On June 12, 1944, he was wounded in the leg. This happened in Normandy, 6 days after "D" Day. On September 14, 1946, Robert reenlisted, on April 21, 1947. He was honorably discharged.

On June 29, 1970, he was united in marriage to Ruth Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn. They then lived in Eagle Grove. Robert worked in Webster City at Dura Mac Manufacturing Company. In March he became disabled and was unable to continue to work.

On June 12, 1979, Robert passed away at the age of 56 years. He had been ill in the VA Hospital in Des Moines for a week before he died.

Those who mourn his departure are five sons: James, Dean, Robby, Roddy, and a stepson Richard Thompson, three daughters: Julie, Ronda and a stepdaughter, Denise, two brothers: Ernest and Edwin, two sisters: Mrs. Elbert Harris and Mrs. Dale Ryher and three grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Services were held June 14,1979, 2 p.m. at Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Dr. Lloyd Meyer officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
