Tracy Lynn French was born in Battle Creek, MI, on October 10, 1962, the daughter of Larry and Janet (Mathews) French. She was baptized and confirmed in the Nazarene Church in Battle Creek. She lost her father when she was only 5 years old. Her mother later married Dale Jeffers and they continued to make their home in Battle Creek. Tracy attended Battle Creek area schools and graduated from Harper's Creek High School in the Class of 1980. Following her graduation she went on to Augabright Business College for two years receiving an Associate Degree in Office Administration and Management. After her completion of college she moved to Belmond, IA, where her parents had already settled in at the inception of the Eaton Corporation Plant that had recently been built there. Tracy then commenced a career at Eaton that spanned more than 30 years as a 3rd generation employee of the company. Much of her duties were in the visual and packing sector of the plant, as well as in the Pentrax training. During her time at Eaton she met her best friend and eventually her husband Darvin Peters who was also a long time veteran employee of the company. The two enjoyed 20 years together in their life journey and adventures that went with their partnership. The two of them were a hardworking tandem and dedicated to their duties. In addition to their great work ethic they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and relaxation. Tracy looked forward to their boating outings where they would spend times on the water at Lake Cornelia tooling about on their pontoon. She loved to work in their yard and enjoyed raising beautiful flowers mixed in with her collection of Fairies. She also loved to come up with various items for Darvin to make for her. She loved to meticulously maintain the yard zipping around on their zero-turn. Tracy was fond of her numerous animals including cats, dogs, barn cats, and of course the horses. Tracy absolutely relished times spent in the presence of her family which was everything to her. She was her son Andrew's biggest cheerleader during his childhood years and an avid and enthusiastic "Wrestling Mom" during his school years on the wrestling mat. In more recent years she adored and relished to gift on her one and only granddaughter that Andrew and his wife Megan brought into her life, Aubrey. Tracy absolutely cherished precious times with Aubrey, teaching her to blow kisses, wave, dance and play with "Grandma's Pretties", that being Tracy's jewelry. Tracy and Darvin had recently completed their new home after the tornado a few years ago. Tracy was the designer of the house and Darwin was the editor! The two had looked forward to many years in their new dwelling. Tracy wasn't a big traveler but when she did it was very spontaneous and a favorite destination was Corpus Christi, TX. She was active in the Belmond United Methodist Church Choir for many years where she shared her beautiful voice with the greater world. All who knew her will reflect on her great ability to impersonate the voices and singing of her favorite musical artists such as Stevie Nicks and Patsy Cline. Tracy had a vast collection of classic rock albums. She had even been to a Stevie Nicks show in Chicago. Those who had the chance to cross in her life journey will cherish memories of her being upbeat, adventurous personality, and her ability to uplift the spirits of any occasion. She truly was a gift to the world and her loss will leave a definite void in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.

Tracy's memory will be carried forward in the hearts and minds of her husband, Darvin Peters, Meservey, IA; son Andrew (Megan) Tillman and their daughter Aubrey Tillman age 14 months, of Kanawha, IA; son Josh Peters, Belmond, IA, and daughter Jamie Peters, Sheffield, IA; her parents Dale and Janet Jeffers, Belmond, IA; her grandma Betty Mathews, Belmond, IA; 2 brothers Martin (Susan) Jeffers, Baltimore, MD, and Mark Jeffers, Belmond, IA; and her sister Melissa Severson, Belmond, IA; an aunt Judy (Dewey) Casteleine, Belmond, IA; as well as other extended family and countless friends. Tracy was preceded in death by her father Larry French, Maternal Grandpa Jim Mathews, and Paternal grandparents Lynn and Maxine French. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA.
