Harold E. Holm, 92, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Friendship Haven.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 25th, 2017 at the Celebration Center at Friendship Haven, with Rev. James Tigges, officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 AM till 11:00 AM at Friendship Haven. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Survivors include his wife, Rose of Fort Dodge; sons, Dr. Michael Holm and his wife, Patty of Owatonna, MN; Dr. Richard Holm of Manson; 4 grandchildren, Chris "Lori" Holm; Dr. Cully "Traci" Holm; Courtney "Dr. Brandon" Ulstad; and Allison "Dr. Michael" Drey; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold O. and Alice (Espe) Holm; sisters, Mildred Ostlund, Elaine Benson, Alma Morris, Aljean Howlett; and his brothers, Harley, Luther, and Aaron Holm; and 7 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law.

Harold Eugene Holm was born on January 16, 1925, in Clarion. He graduated from Duncombe High School in 1942. After graduation, Harold served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII, spending most of his time in the Pacific. Harold returned in 1946. On November 28, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rose Wohn at Corpus Christi Church and the couple made their home in Duncombe. For 10 years, Harold ran a gas station in Duncombe and drove school bus for the Duncombe School System. In 1955, the family moved to a farm near Manson. Harold farmed for 50 plus years for which he had a great passion. From the early 1960's to the middle 1970's, Harold did custom spraying for farmers in Webster and Calhoun County. In 1975, Harold and Rose moved to Fort Dodge. He enjoyed golfing and discussing all things related to farming. Memorials may be left to the St. Mary's Faith Formation Program, 311 N. 4th Street, Humboldt, IA 50548.
