Funeral services for Lawrence Runner, 59, were held Saturday afternoon at the Sandvig Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Bernard Olson, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Runner died Thursday morning, May 27 in Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge where he had been a patient for ten days. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Claris of North Platte, Neb., Richard of Martin, S.D. and one sister Mrs. Kenneth Schulz of North Platte, Neb. Mr. Runner was a retired employee of the Chicago and North Western railroad where he was a machinist welder.

He was born July 20, 1905 in Westerville, Neb., and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Runner. He started to work for the railroad in Nebraska, transfering to Chicago and later to Green Bay, Wis. and to Eagle Grove in 1934. He was married to Miss Irene Larson in Mason City in 1930, and they have made their home at 518 S. E. 1st Street this city. He was a member of the First Methodist church and the Masonic lodge.
