January 25, 1892 ---- March 5, 1978

Mary Elizabeth Ayers, the daughter of William and Mary Catherine Lodgston Ayers, was born January 25, 1892 in Indiana. Shortly after her birth she moved with her family to Nebraska where she attended school. On June 11, 1921 she was married to Frank Wixom at Council Bluffs, Ia. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Eagle Grove where they made their home at 316 S. Commercial for over 50 years. Mr. Wixom died on December 25, 1952. Mary died Sunday, March 5, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge at the age of 86 years, one month, and 10 days.

Survivors include two daughters: Welcome (Mrs. William) Christopulos, Salt Lake, Utah; Virginia (Mrs. Harold) Kessel, West Covina, Calif.; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers: William, Otis and Cecil Ayers; a sister, Zula, and two grandchildren.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine and the First Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Paul Jackson officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
