September 30, 1893 ---- December 25, 1952

Frank Henry Wixom was born near Spring Valley, Illinois, on September 30, 1893, the son of Charles H. and Minnie A. Wixom, and departed this life on December 25, 1952. He was baptized in the Congregational church at Spring Valley when a young child. After graduation from high school at LaSalle-Peru, Illinois, he taught school for several years and then conducted a hardware store for his father until he entered the life insurance business. After a tour of duty in the navy during the first World War, he re-entered the life insurance business and continued in that line of endeavor until the time of his death.

He was a resident of Eagle Grove for over 31 years and was deeply interested in all civic affairs. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge; served as a member of the Eagle Grove school board and was a past Commander of Clarence Shurtz American Legion Post No. 304. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Ayers on June 11, 1921, and to this union two daughters were born. Welcome Christopulos, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Virginia Kessel, on a farm south of Eagle Grove.

He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, and enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a great lover of history, and his hobbies were hunting, fishing and reading. His hearty laugh and cheery smile will long be remembered in the community.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, two daughters and five grandchildren, Sharon, Larry and Kenneth Christopulos, and Candy Sue and Patricia Jo Kessel. Also three sisters: Mrs. Ray Wheeler of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Verne Murdy of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Lawrence Strawn of Spring Valley, Ill. And five brothers, Harry, Harold and Clyde of Los Angeles, Calif., Roy of Glenview, Ill., and Jesse of Florence, New Jersey.
