Doris Louise Boggs Schroder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmet and Ruth (Shaw) Boggs of Clarion was born at Clarion on April 18, 1929. She attended the Clarion schools and graduated with the class of 1947. They attended the Congregational Church in Rowan. Later she became a member of the Calvary Church in Belmond, being baptized there. She was a faithful member. On June 26, 1949 she was united in marriage to Erwin L. Schroder at the Church of Christ in Clarion. This union was blessed with five children, Thomas 15, Douglas 12, Phillip 8, Shelly 6 and Richard 4. Before her marriage she was employed as a Nurse's Aide at the Bird Hospital in Clarion, and as a receptionist and Nurse's Aide at the Erie Clinic in Erie, Kansas. She also worked at the Clarion Community Hospital while her husband served in the Armed Forces. Her interests included singing, sewing and church activities.

She had taken Richard and Shelly to their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Boggs in Clarion, to spend the evening while she and her three sons and her nephew, Leslie Studer of Eagle Grove, who was spending the holiday vacation in the Schroder home, to a New Year's Eve gathering at the Baptist church in Belmond.

She is survived by her husband, Erwin; one daughter, Shelly and three sons, Tom, Phil and Richard. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmet and Ruth Boggs of Clarion, two sisters, Mrs. Norma Stewart of Erie, Kansas and Charlotte Studer of Eagle Grove, one brother, Stanley Boggs of Roland and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday January 5, 1970 at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary Church in Belmond. Rev. Louis Miller and Rev. Damon Reese officiated. The Eyler Funeral Home of Clarion had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were neighbors of the family - Charles Holmes, Howard Hansen, Verle Crafton, Larry Aldrich, Larry Retleff and Eugene Frohling.
