CLINTON, Iowa -- Marion E. Beecher, Sr., of 637 12th Ave. S., died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at his home. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. No services will be held. The body will be cremated after the visitation. Inurnment will be later. Mr. Beecher was employed as a maintenance foreman and master machinist at Chicago & Northwestern. He was born Dec. 19, 1917, in Eagle Grove. He married Marion Westgate in 1961 in Almont. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife, Marion; a daughter, Julie Beecher, Clinton; sons, Marion E. Jr., Clinton, and Martin J., Frankfurt, Maine; and three grandchildren.

Marion E. Beecher Sr. was born December 19, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Beecher at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He grew up in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. He was a journeyman for the Chicago NorthWestern Railroad. Marion E. Beecher Sr. died September 22, 2000 at his home in Clinton, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Marion; sons Marion Jr. and Martin, and a daughter, Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Harry, Vivian and Carroll. Services for Marion E. Beecher Sr. were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000 at 10 a.m. in the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zorning Funeral Homes, Clinton.
