Margaret L. Bisom, 92, of Ottumwa, Iowa formerly of Newton, IA, died July 5, 2006, at Hospice in Ottumwa. She was born July 8, 1913, in Queen City, MO, to Charles I. and Mabel R. (McNaught) Butler. She married Vernon J. Bisom July 21, 1932 in Bethany, MO. She was employed as a bookkeeper and supervisor of the Business office at Skiff Medical Center for 20 years where she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Newton First United Methodist Church, A.B.W.A. as a Charter Member, past president of the Newton Garden Club and Women’s Club.

She is survived by a son, John Bisom (Faye) of Juneau, AL; daughters, Shirley Stith (Robert) of Sierra Vista, AZ; Connie Bisom of Newton, IA; Becky Long (Rodney) of Ottumwa, IA; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Louis L. Butler; and a sister, Mildred Shroder.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2006, with family present at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Ottumwa, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
