C. C. Chipman dies Tuesday
Claude Chipman, 80, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, where he had been a patient for several days. He has been in failing health for some years. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Mary Ann Jones of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services are pending at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home.

Claude Cleanard Cbipman was born April 6, 1894, at Manson, Ia., the son of Horace and Louisa J. Egli Chipman. He served for a time in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War I. He was united in marriage to Anna Guriane Lilledahl of Eagle Grove and the couple became the parents of a daughter, Mary Anne. Mrs. Chipman died in 1952 and Claude continued to make his home in Eagle Grove where he worked as a musician and piano tuner. He died at the Veteran's Hospital, Des Moines, Ia., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the age of 80 years, 1 months, and 27 days.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne Jones, Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers; and three sisters. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 7, at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Walter E. Carlson officiated, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Masonic Rites were held at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
