Harry W. Sizer, 72, former president of the Lisbon Bank and Trust Co. and a longtime civic leader, died at his home in Lisbon, Iowa Wednesday. He was born July 22, 1906, at Corwith, Iowa graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1926 and attended the Cedar Rapids Business College. He was married to Faye Gardner on July 20, 1932 in Lisbon. He went to Lisbon from a Washington, Iowa bank in 1941 and was associated with the Lisbon Bank and Trust Co. until his retirement as president earlier this month. He was a member of the bank's board of directors at the time of his death.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Benjamin Franklin Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Cedar Rapids Shrine, Mount Vernon-Lisbon Rotary Club and a 50-Year member of the Iowa Bankers' Association. He was past member of the Lisbon school board, City Council and Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harry Jr., of Lisbon, and Timothy, of Manassa, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Schenk, of Lisbon; a sister, Mrs. Thamer Begley of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services: Saturday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lisbon by the Rev. Thomas Stewart. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery. Masonic services by the Benjamin Franklin Lodge. A Memorial fund has been established, and friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today.
