Funeral services for Phyllis M. Christianson, 86, Bode, were held Monday, Jan. 27, at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode, with burial in the St. Olaf Cemetery there. She died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at the Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt. The Mason - Lindhart Funeral Home of Bode was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Paul Breddin officiating. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Lynn Jesse of Urbandale; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jody Christianson of Bozeman, MT; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two brothers. Ward and Bobbie Hanson; and two sisters, Marjorie Fox and Arlene Hanson.

Phyllis Margaret Hanson, daughter of Dr. Clarence and Lulu Mae Hanson, was born Jan. 31, 1916, at Eagle Grove. She moved with her family to Bode when she was 14-years-old, and in 1933 she graduated from Bode High School. In November, 1937, she was united in marriage to John Christianson of Bode. The couple made their home on their farm north of Bradgate all of their married lives. She became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center South two and a half years ago.
