Funeral services for Curtis Fox, 83, Livermore, were held Wednesday, March 25, at the Wilson Funeral Home in Livermore, with burial in the St. Olaf Cemetery at Bode. He died Sunday, March 22, at the North Care Center in Humboldt. The Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Richard Layman, pastor of the Livermore and Lu Verne United Methodist Churches, officiating. Military graveside rites were performed by Otto Field Post No. 415 of the American Legion of Livermore.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Marlys Brauman of Minneapolis, MN, and Lois Roberts of Macon, GA; one stepgrandchild; three brothers, Donald Fox of Kearney, NE; John Fox of Ottumwa; and Albert Fox of Chadron, NE; and three sisters, Emma Adamsen of Cedar Falls, Geneva Martin of Livermore and Edith Stone of Miami, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; two brothers, Barney and Victor Fox; and two sisters, Eleanor Hernandez and Mary Harper.
Curtis Fox was born April 4, 1908, in Elberon. He moved with his family to Goldfield. He received his education in Goldfield and Livermore, and later attended the University of Iowa and then barber college in Minneapolis, MN. Following his education, he returned to Livermore, where he worked with his father in a farm tiling business. During World War II, he served with the United States Army in the Pacific Theater. After receiving his discharge in 1945, he returned to Livermore and continued in the tiling business. In 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Hanson at Blue Earth, MN. She died in 1978. For a number of years he served as a caretaker for several cemeteries in the area. Following his retirement, he worked with commercial gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Post 415 of Livermore.
