June 1885 ---- October 7, 1900

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Holman of Eagle Grove was again saddened this week by the death of their eldest daughter, Isabelle, from typhoid fever, the same dread disease which carried off their youngest child the one week before. The remains were brought to Hawarden Tuesday and were accompanied by Mrs. Holman and Mrs. VanOsdel, a sister of Mrs. Holman.

In the death of Bella Holman, the parents have the heartfelt sympathy of all their neighbors and friends in their sad affliction. With only ten days intervening the youngest and the oldest of their happy family of five children have been taken by the cruel hand of death. All five have had the dread disease, typhoid fever, but the remaining three are convalesent and out of danger.
