Mary Deloris (Graves) Thompson, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Griffith) Graves, was born on November 18, 1921, in Goldfield, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1941. On July 12, 1947, Mary was united in marriage with Arnold "Hans" Thompson at the Methodist Parsonage in Blue Earth, Minnesota. They were blessed with three children: Linda, Carroll and Kevin. Hans preceded her in death on April 4, 2011. Mary was a member of the Goldfield United Presbyterian Church. She always enjoyed watching and listening to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Mary passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove. at the age of 95 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Martin, Patricia Fletcher and Norene Elberg; brothers, Daryl "Pete" Graves and Kirby Graves; son-in-law, Stan Ganzeveld and daughter-in-law, Laura Thompson. Mary is survived by her children, Linda Ganzeveld of Goldfield, Carroll Thompson of Clarion, Kevin Thompson of Santa Clara, CA and Julie Thompson of Clarion; seven grandchildren: Ernie Ganzeveld, Tracy Ganzeveld, Bill Ganzeveld (Lindsey), Jennifer Johnson (Greg), Amanda Thompson, Bethany Thompson and Savannah Thompson; eleven great–grandchildren: Brittany Strub, Andrew Strub, Whitney Johnson, Mckayla Johnson, Anisa Johnson, Emily Johnson, Katelyn Ganzeveld, Kylie Ganzeveld, Ryan Ganzeveld, Ayden Ganzeveld and Landyn Ganzeveld; sister-in-law, Shirley Rollefson of Forest City; brother-in-law, Richard Thompson (Bev) of Cottage Grove, MN and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield, with Rev. Sara Sutter officiating Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Memorials may be left at the discretion of the family.
