SHEFFIELD, IA -- Joshua Allan Schade, 34, Sheffield, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Clarion. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Zion Reformed Church, Jonquil Ave. 2029 B in Sheffield. The Rev. Arthur Zewert will be officiating. A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. Memorial contributions may be directed to Jill Schade.

Joshua was born Nov. 4, 1982, son of Jack and Geri (Piggott) Schade, Iowa City. He attended North Central Manly High School, class of 2001. After high school Joshua worked construction Rother Masonry. Joshua was united in marriage to Jill Meints Dec. 4, 2010, in Sheffield.

Joshua enjoyed smoking and barbecuing all types of food. He loved spending time with his family and friends, being outside golfing, playing a good game of beanbags, and ending the day with a good bonfire. He grew up playing softball during the summer with his parents and family.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Jill Schade, Sheffield; parents, Jack (Geri) Schade, Plymouth; brother, Jerris (Samantha) Schade, Mason City; grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, father-in-law, Gary Meints.

Sheffield man dies in Wright County single vehicle accident

May 22, 2017 - A Sheffield man was killed last Thursday night in a one vehicle accident in Wright County. The Iowa State Patrol responded to a single vehicle accident where a vehicle was discovered on its top, mostly submerged in a drainage ditch west of Belmond on Madison Avenue. Authorities discovered a deceased male in the vehicle and identified him as 34-year-old Joshua Allen Schade of Sheffield. The Iowa State Patrol, Wright County Sheriff's Office, Clarion Fire and Rescue, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, and Sheffield Police Department assisted at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
