Mrs. Elaine L. Parks, 82, of 246 9th SE, [Mason City] died Friday (Aug. 29, 1986) at her home here. Funeral services will be Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Delmar L. Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery, Belmond. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. Monday until 10 a.am at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd NE. The family requests that memorials be given to the Elaine L. Parks Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Parks was born on Jan. 27, 1904, at Belmond, to Halvor and Caroline (Holm) Rierson. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1923 and attended Waldorf College at Forest City. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and taught school in Persia, Iowa, Thompson, and the Mason City School District. She was employed as the administrative assistant for the county superintendent, retiring in 19782. She then worked part-time at the Treasurer’s Office at the County Courthouse. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving is a brother, Harlan Rierson, Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and three brothers.
