March 2, 1909 ----- December 7, 1991

Memorial services for Eugene Williams, Clarion, will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 1:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Clarion. Rev. William Granger Will officiate and burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. The Willim Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation. Mr. Williams' body was donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and.Health Sciences in Des Moines. He died on December 7, 1991 at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

Eugene Williams, known to many in this area as "Gene Brown" was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 2, 1909. He lived in the South until his early teens when he started traveling with the threshing crews, ending up eventually in the Clarion area where he worked for many farm families. He married Margaret Mulhern in 1938 and they lived with their family on a Moore Place north of Clarion. In 1958 they moved to a farm at Kanawha. Margaret died in 1975 and he then retired and moved to Clarion. Survivors include four children: Jean Lindstrom, Clarion; John Williams, Newark, CA., Carolyn Jo Poulson, Dale City, VA and Jim Williams, Clarion; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and two brothers: William and Jack, both of Dayton, Tn. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and one sister. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
