Annabelle Halvorsen, 83, of Webster City died Sunday afternoon, April 10 at Southfield Care Center. There will be a memorial service Wednesday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Ward Malloy officiating. She was cremated and her ashes will be buried at Graceland Cemetery Wednesday, April 13 at 1 p.m.
Annabelle Whitley, daughter of Albert and Annie McColl Whitley, was born Nov. 18, 1904 at Normal, Neb. She received her education there. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Savage, Minn. On Aug. 20, 1930, she married Arthur G. Halvorsen at Faribault, Minn. The couple resided in Woolstock where Mr. Halvorsen practiced law in Wright County. The couple moved to Webster City in 1941. While her husband practiced law in the Webster City area, she was his secretary for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in May of 1971 and had been a resident at Southfield Care Center since October of 1979. She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Thelma and Orville Quasdorf of Laramie, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Jenny and Becky Quasdorf of Laramie, Wyo.; one brother, Gordon L. Whitley of Savage, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Webster City. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
