SUDDEN DEATH OF D. B. GRIFFITH
Expires without Premonition in Depot at Algona Wednesday Morning

While in the depot at Algona in company with J. S. Paine Wednesday morning, David B. [sic] Griffith suddenly fell and before helping hands could reach him life had departed. He had not been in rugged health for two years but the seriousness of his malady was not realized. It is not known as we go to press what arrangements will be made about the funeral. The deceased was a nephew of Chas. H. Griffith who gave him a home on his farm for many years while a boy in his teens. He was born in New York and came to Iowa in 1860. In 1895 he was married to Barbara Nichtern who died five years later. He was again married to Miss Neva Thompson. He leaves but one child, a son about 12 years of age. Mr. Griffith was a member of the Odd Fellow fraternity which he prized highly and to which he was much devoted.
