Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11 AM, At the United Methodist Church, Renwick. Vistiation will be from 10 to 11 AM, at the United Methodist Church in Renwick.

Lola Ann (Friday) Hippen was born January 7, 1936, on the family farm near Renwick, the daughter of Irwin and Vivian (Luchsinger) Friday. She grew up in Renwick and graduated from Vernon High School in 1953; she then went on to Hamilton Business College in Mason City. After finishing school she worked at the Renwick Savings Bank, and the Fastway Convenient store for 13 years, until retirement. In August of 1961, Lola was united in marriage to William Hippen at the United Methodist Church in Renwick. Lola was a farm wife while raising two children, Stacy and Kerry. They were later divorced. Lola enjoyed golfing, bowling, and caring for horses. Later in life she loved to play card games. Lola was a member of the United Methodist Church in Renwick, a member of the Eastern Star, a school board member for many in her community and belonged to the Cosmopolitan Club. Lola passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. She was 81.

Lola was survived by daughter, Stacy Van Lengen and husband Donald of Des Moines; son, Kerry Hippen of Renwick; brother, Ken Friday and wife Eloise of Jefferson; nephew, Joel Friday and wife Heather of Kansas City and niece Ashley Friday of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daryl Friday and one nephew, Justin Friday.
