Andrew Frederick Ramaeker, the son of Frederick and Gertrude Smith Ramaeker, was born at Lindsey, Neb. on Aug. 28, 1916. He grew up in Nebraska and received his education there. As a young man, he moved to IIlinois. On Feb. 3, 1945, he was united in marriage with Shirley Neal of Ringwood, Ill. in the St. Mary's Church at McHenry, Ill. After their marriage, the couple moved to Somers, Iowa where they lived for two years. Then they moved to Thor, where the family lived until 1955. The family moved to a farm near LuVerne, where they lived until 1962, when they moved to the present farm home northwest of Eagle Grove. Mr. Ramaeker died on Friday morning, Sept. 10, 1982 at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 66 years and 13 days. He was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Church and had been a member of the Parish Council and was serving as a Trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 12 children, Ronnie, Mrs. Tim Larson of Des Moines; Lonnie Ramaeker of Muscatine; Mary Ann, Mrs. Larry Bonde of Mt. Pleasant; Don Ramaeker of Mason City; Carrie, Mrs. Robert Campbell III of Goldfield; Tom
Ramaeker of Goldfield; Cindy Ramaeker of Eagle Grove; Marie Ramaeker of Fort Dodge; Donna Ramaeker of Eagle Grove; JoAnne Ramaeker of Eagle Grove and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, and two brothers, Elmer Ramaeker of Hardy; Clare, Mrs. Alvin Miller of McHenry, Ill.; Bernice, Mrs. Gerald Miller of McHenry, Ill.; Sister Mary LaVerne Ramaeker of Waukegan, Ill.; Rev. Fr. Victor Ramaeker of Sioux City and Sister Mary James Ramaeker of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Arthur, Paul and Dave.Funeral services for Andrew F. Ramaeker, were held on Monday morning, Sept. 13, 1982 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. The Principal Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Victor Ramaeker and Homily Leader was Rev. Fr. John Hemann, pastor of Sacred Heart and other celebrants who were friends of the family. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Rosary Services were held at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
