Louis Ely Cupp, son of John Rufus and Nora Ellen Neece Cupp, was born July 13, 1905 in Marceline, Missouri. He attended the Brookfield, Missouri schools and in 1921 moved to Gilmore City, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Grace May Henderson on December 10, 1930 and to this union one son and two daughters were born. The family made their home in Gilmore City, Bradgate and Clarion before moving to Eagle Grove in 1953. Mr. Cupp had been employed by Christensen Motor Co. many years before his retirement. Louis had been in failing health and died Saturday morning, April 27, in the Clarion Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 68 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, one son, Stanley of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, two daughters, (Virginia) Mrs. William Mintun of Eagle Grove & (Shirley) Mrs. Mark Holtan of Storm Lake, 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Jenny Thomas of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Lawrence Fox of Fort Dodge, two brothers, Dale of Rutland and Jewell of Fort Dodge. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in the Samuel Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove, with Rev. P. L. Mork officiating. Interment was held in East Ullensvang Cemetery, Thor.
