Betty Carden Broshar, 82, of Webster City, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Visitation and Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. with a gathering of friends and family after the services until 7:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Betty Ann Nail, the daughter of John and Bertha Reinhardt Nail was born December 16, 1932 in Blairsburg. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. Betty married Richard Laverne Carden on October 5, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City. The couple farmed west of Duncombe for many years. Richard preceded her in death on May 13, 1990. Betty married Floyd Broshar on December 17, 1992 in Chandler, AZ.

Betty is survived by her husband, Floyd Broshar; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Vicki Carden; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Dennis Richardson; grandchildren, Lori and Jamie Kolbeck, Randy Carden, Jennifer and James Rossing, Joshua and Kara Richardson, Jonathan Richardson; eight great-grandchildren, Parker, Gage and Dylan Rossing, Casey and Cody Kolbeck, Camden and Josslyn Carden and Samantha Richardson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Sondra Carden; son-in-law, Chuck Crider; niece, Judi and Tom Crosley; great-niece, Jaime and Ronnie Malasan and family; several nieces, nephews, cousins; step-children; Vicki and Jerry Brewer and family, Bill and Chris Broshar and family, Brian and Rose Broshar and family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha; first husband, Richard; daughter, Deborah Carden-Crider; grandchildren, Carrie and Richie Carden; sisters, Helen and Ruth Nail; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Ethel Samuelson.

She was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was active in many churches in the various communities that she resided. Betty enjoyed 45 plus years in the great Arizona sun, playing cards, golfing and meeting new people. She also enjoyed her time on the farm in Mount Ayr and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an organization of your choice.
