Klemme -- The Rev. J. W. Grosshuesch, Ph. D., 90, father of the Rev. Calvin Grosshuesch of Klemme, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lydia Vriesen, at Plymouth, Wis., Friday. He was born at Sheboygan, Wis. June 11, 1859, [1859] where his father, the Rev. Tillman Grosshuesch served the Newton congregation. He was graduated from the Mission House college and seminary and was ordained as a minister of the gospel in 1878. He married Miss Silo Muehlmeier Aug. 24, 1882. After a post graduate course at the University of Wisconsin he taught at the Mission House college 42 years. He served as pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church at Colby, Wis., for a few years, then returned to Mission House college where he served as treasurer and librarian.

About 10 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Grosshuesch retired and made their home in Sheboygan. During the last 10 years they lived in Klemme with the Calvin Grosshuesch family. Mr. and Mrs. Grosshuesch were visiting relatives in Wisconsin, several weeks. He became ill at the home of his sister, Mrs. Vriesen a few days before he died. He celebrated his 90th birthday June 11. Funeral services were to be held at the Evangelical and Reformed church near the Mission House Monday afternoon. Burial was to be at the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife and 5 sons, as follows: Oscar Grosshuesch of Yankton, S. Dak.; the Rev. Walter Grosshuesch, Madison, Wis.; the Rev. Paul Grosshuesch, Plymouth, Wis.; the Rev. Calvin Grosshuesch, Klemme; the Rev. Victor Grosshuesch, Oconto, Wis.
