MASON CITY, IA -- Kathleen Margaret Boots, 73, of Mason City, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, April 10, 2017, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kent Mechler and Pastor Scott Davis officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Kathleen Boots Memorial Fund.

Kathleen was born in Goldfield, Iowa, on Sept. 11, 1943. On Sept. 17, 1961, she was united in marriage to Larry Boots. The two spent most of their married life in Hampton and Mason City, Iowa.

Kathleen had many interest in life. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends, while also taking an interest in gardening and bird watching. Along with these things she also enjoyed reading a good book, decorating and being a homemaker.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Larry Don Boots; sons: Jeff (Sarah) Boots of Apple Valley, MN, and Tim (Carolyn) Boots of Metairie, LA; and 5 grandchildren. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are with Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, IA
