CLARION - Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:30 at St. John's Catholic church in Clarion for John Murphy, 86. Mr. Murphy died Thursday night at the Clarion Memorial hospital. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Williams.

Mr. Murphy was born in Illinois and farmed for many years near Williams. His wife [Annie Chaplinski] died about 15 years ago and since then he had made his home with a son, Lawrence, near Clarion. Surviving are two sons, Edward of Chicago and Philip of Clear Lake; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; four brothers, Frank, Lee and George of Williams, and Charles of Algona, and one sister, Mrs. Mary McCoy, Mason City.
