Mrs. Hannah Caroline Nutt, the daughter of Hans and Karen Nelson Olson, was born at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on July 13, 1888. She grew up in the Eagle Grove-Thor area and attended the Thor rural schools. On July 3, 1919, she was united in marriage with Frank Nutt in Humboldt County, Iowa. The couple lived in Eagle Grove where he was employed by the railroad. Mr. Nutt died in April of 1970. She continued to live in their home until 1973, when she became a resident of the Clarion Care Center. She attended the Samuel Lutheran Church and was a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She died at the Clarion Care Center early Sunday morning, March 18,1984 at the age of 96 years, two months and five days. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Kate Umstead of Belmond and Mrs. Nellie Welch of Lancaster, Calif., a brother, Theodore Olson of Halstad, Minn., and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Edwin; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Larson and Mrs. Jennie Ihle and four brothers, Cornel, Henry, Frank and Ole.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah C. Nutt, age 96, of Eagle Grove, were held on Tuesday at 1:30 p m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home. Rev. Oscar Laavig of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday.
