Mrs. Rose Fritzel, 71, Dies Following Stroke in Hospital
Mrs. Charles Fritzel, 71, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Belmond Community Hospital of complications resulting from a stroke she had suffered at her home in Klemme on May 29. She was taken to the Belmond hospital after suffering the stroke and remained in critical condition until her death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pleasant Valley E.U.B. church, northeast of Wellsburg, with Rev. H. M. Raecker of Marshalltown in charge of the service. Burial was at the side of her husband in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Irl Bausman, Lawrence Bausman, Doyle Bausman, Kenneth Kramer, Ronald Harms and Jack Perry Jr. Mrs. Norman Harms and Mrs. Harold Eekhoff served as flower attendants.
Rose Bausman was born Nov. 22, 1886, on the Bausman "home place" farm in Pleasant Valley township, where Doyle Bausman farms today. She married Charles D. Fritzel of Grundy Center, at Cedar Rapids on February 10, 1914. Mr. Fritzel passed away on March 19, 1946. The couple spent their entire married lives together in the vicinity of Klemme. They resided on a farm near there for 24 years, and Mrs. Fritzel had spent the past 20 years in town after her husband retired from the farm.
Mrs. Fritzel is survived by two brothers and two sisters. They are Mrs. Jack (Beulah) Perry Sr., of Parkersburg; Mrs. Will (Gladys) Harms, Iowa Falls; Bryan Bausman, Wellsburg, and Lynn Bausman, Eldora. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and one sister.
