Obituary of Mrs. J. Edward Anderson
Mary Elizabeth Caffrey was born Feb. 5, 1868 on a farm near Stratford, Iowa. In 1886 she was married to Earl D. Spears and they moved to Eagle Grove a few years later. One daughter, Mary (Mrs. George Orth) was born to this union. Mr. Spears died May 5, 1909. Mrs. Spears took into her home to raise a little girl of four years old, Blanche Raymond. She cared for her for twelve years as her own. Blanche is now Mrs. Edward Anderson of Albin, Wyo. On May 4, 1916, Mrs. Spears was married to J. E. Anderson. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Geo. Orth of Dickinson, N. Dak., her foster daughter, Mrs. Edward Anderson of Albin, Wyo., one stepson, Byford Anderson of Madrid, two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Hook of Lake Wilson, Minn,, Mrs. R. H. Montgomery of Mitchell, S. Dak. two brothers, John Caffrey of Pipestone, Minn., and Julius Caffrey of Fulda, Minn, Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o'clock from Sacred Heart church with the Very Rev. Father P. Molloy officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. George Orth and son of Dickinson, N. Dak., Mrs. Edward Anderson of Albin, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Byford Anderson of Madrid, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Alley of Stanhope, Mrs. Margaret Halligan, Mrs. Margaret Kelley and Mrs. Ed. Laurent of Waverly, Mrs. R. H. Montgomery of Mitchell, S. Dak., Mrs. E. W. Hook and John Caffrey of Lake Wilson, Minn., and Julius Caffrey of Fulda, Minn.
