Gregory W. Rockow, 68, of Dows passed over to the other side on Friday, January 27, 2017 at his home in Dows. A Celebration of Life Visitation for Greg Rockow will be held from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Ewing Funeral Home, 100 North Lee Street in Dows.
Greg was born in Webster City, Iowa on September 27, 1948 to Harley and Elsie (Ryan) Rockow. He attended grade school in Ellsworth, Iowa and later attended and graduated from high school in Garner. Greg enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967 and served aboard the USS Ranger and USS Harnett County in Vietnam until 1972. Greg attended NIACC in Mason City and the University of Iowa after serving in the military. He found his niche selling commercial real estate, and continued to do so until 2017.
Greg is survived by his wife and friend of 41 years, Lila Rockow; his sons Bradley and Gregory Jr. of Greenville, North Carolina; his rescue dog, Cali; his rescue grand dog Dustin; his sister, Marcia Rockow of Gardnerville, Nevada; his brother Gary Rockow and his wife Sharon of Klemme; and several wonderful nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends.
